The Restorations Story:

To manufacture innovative high performing windows, that has always been a mission of Sunrise Windows, and the Restorations line of products is the newest outcome of this mission.

Why choose Sunrise Windows? Homeowners have told us many things: They want windows which are extremely energy efficient to save money heating and cooling their homes. They want windows which look great so the value of their home is enhanced. They want windows which are strong and durable enough to last a lifetime. And they want windows which require virtually no maintenance and upkeep.

Sound like a tall order for windows? Not for Restorations Windows.

We've designed a narrow line patented window that emulates the look of traditional windows. But to make this narrow line window strong, energy efficient, and maintenance free, we married PVC with Fiberglass and created a material called FiberCore - an all-new way of making a window. The internal core of the extrusion is made of a pultruded core of fiberglass, because it's stronger than PVC, metal, or wood. And it's extremely thermally efficient.

If fiberglass is so good, why not make the entire window out of it?

Simple. Fiberglass is not a maintenance-free material; it needs to be stained or painted. To make a window out of fiberglass would mean we would have to mechanically fasten or screw the corners together, instead of fusion welding them together so they won't leak over time.

FiberCore combines the best of both worlds, like having your cake and eating it, too.

And it's only available on Restorations Innovative Window Systems.

Energy Saving Glass Systems by Restorations Windows

We guarantee the energy savings. When you replace the windows in your home with Restorations Windows and Patio Doors you'll enjoy greater peace of mind knowing that you'll experience savings on the energy necessary to heat and cool your home. We stand behind the fact that you'll use less energy and save more money all while enhancing the beauty of your home both inside and out.

Ultra-U VSS Glass System is a 7/8" overall dual glazed insulated glass unit featuring Ultra-U Plus glass, which consists of eight layers of high performance reflective metallic shields, the XLEdge spacer system, and an air space filled with high density argon gas. SunClean Self-Cleaning Glass is a permanent titanium dioxide layer that is part of the outer glass surface. After installation, the Sun's ultraviolet rays break down dirt and debris on the glass, which rain will then wash away. Best of all there's no spotting or streaking, and it's powered by nature. SunSmart Glass System is a 7/8" overall triple-glazed insulated glass unit made up of one pane of Ultra-U Plus glass, one pane of SunClean Self-Cleaning glass, a third pane of sound absorbing glass and the XLEdge Spacer. Both air spaces are filled with high density argon gas.

Restoration's XLEdge Spacer System takes high-performing spacer technology to an entire new level. Glass systems featuring the XLEdge Spacer System reduce condensation around the perimeter of the window.

Our Glass Really Stacks Up

The glass on different brands of windows may look the same, but it's amazing the energy our 8 layers of high-performance metallic shields will save you. You can't see them, but they're working for you, night and day, winter and summer.

Great Performance

Specially-designed Sunrise Restorations Windows features make sense for any room. Fusion-welded corners and naturally-sloped sills eliminate the need for unsightly drain holes and guard against possible leaks. And unlike typical windows, all Sunrise Restorations Windows feature not one, but three continuous weather-strip seals, making them virtually airtight. Thanks to built-in features like self-tensioning balances, you need not bother with adjustments, or constant lubrication which typical balances require. So you will enjoy a draft-free home, without the hassle of time-consuming service problems. Also, our unique pivot system allows sashes to tilt into your home for ease of cleaning - sashes remove in a flash and can be reinstalled just as quickly! Our windows are manufactured to such tight standard that when lock, there is virtually no slop or movement.

White Twin Double-Hungs featuring solid Georgian Contoured grids.

Tilt-in construction on Double and Single-Hungs allows you to keep your Sunrise Restorations Windows sparkling clean with no muss, no fuss.  Muntin bars are sealed between the panes of glass eliminating time-consuming cleaning.

ENERGY STAR®: Getting More For Your MoneyEnergy Star Partner logo

Will I Be Able To Find The Style And Type Of Window I Want?

When choosing an ENERGY STAR® window or door made by Sunrise Windows, you don't have to sacrifice comfort, versatility or style, as all Sunrise Windows and doors are ENERGY STAR® approved.

What Other Advantages Can I Expect From An ENERGY STAR® Window?

Some home furnishings and décor can actually suffer a kind of sunburn when continuously exposed to too much daylight. The ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun can cause fading and degradation of many materials and dyes found in upholstery, carpet, artwork, wood or paint. Our exclusive Ultra-U glass, available for all Sunrise windows, can reduce harmful sun damage by up to 75%, giving greater protection to your interiors.

ENERGY STAR® windows, by virtue of their design, eliminate draftiness and resist condensation for greater comfort. A well-insulated window also diminishes sound transmission.

How Can I Get The Most Energy Efficient Product For My Climate?

ENERGY STAR® performance requirements for windows and doors are tailored to fit the energy needs of the country's different climate regions - Northern, North/Central, South/Central, and Southern. The ENERGY STAR® Climate Region Map gives you clear guidelines for determining which windows and doors will do the best job to help reduce heating and cooling costs in your region - and your home. Sunrise Windows is one only a few window manufacturers approved to show the one-color Climate Region Map that indicates we are ENERGY STAR® qualified for all four regions.

What Is An NFRC Rating?

Any product that wants to be ENERGY STAR® qualified must be tested by an independant lab to determine the product's performance ratings. These ratings are reviewed by a branch of the Federal government called the NFRC (Nation Fenestration Rating Council), whose mission is to provide unbiased energy performance ratings for windows and doors (or "fenestration"). NFRC ratings provide the basis for the ENERGY STAR® window performance requirements. Just as an EPA sticker on a new car will give you a guideline to the car's fuel economy, the NFRC sticker, such as ours shown below, gives consistent ratings that can help homeowners determine both Winter and Summer performance characteristics. Look for low U-Factor and SHGC numbers for highest efficiency performance. As you compare brands, make sure the dealer or manufacturer can provide you with their NFRC ratings and ENERGY STAR® qualification.

Winter U-Factor: In the Winter, the lower a window's overall U-value, the less heat you will lose through that window. A lower U-value means you'll use less energy to heat your home, saving you more, since your furnace isn't running as much.

Summer Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC): In the Summer, a lower SHGC means less solar radiation is admitted through your window. Your home will remain cooler and your air conditioner will not have to work as hard.

Visible Transmittance: Visible Transmittance (VT) measures how much light comes through a product. The higher the visible transmittance, the fewer tints there will be to the glass. A higher VT rate ensures a clearer piece of glass.

Air Leakage: The lower the number, the less drafts and air infiltration. The lowest number the government assigns is a .1 and Sunrise Windows actually are even lower. Windows with an air leakage number above .3 fail this test.

Can Windows Save Energy?

In a typical house, over 40% of the annual energy budget is consumed by heating and cooling. Proper selection of windows and doors can significantly affect how much money we spend or save every year on keeping your homes bright and comfortable.

When you are investing hundreds or thousands of dollars on new windows or doors, you need to get the most for your money. A great way to find the right products for your home is too look for the ENERGY STAR® symbol. ENERGY STAR® labeled windows and doors are twice as efficient as the average window manufactured just ten years ago. These high performing products can help cut your heating and cooling costs, make your home more comfortable and help the environment too. Here are some thoughts to consider when looking for an energy efficient window.

What Features make The ENERGY STAR® Window A Good Buy?

New materials, coatings, design and construction features, as well as other innovations, make ENERGY STAR® labeled windows a cost-effective investment. ENERGY STAR® labeled windows and doors are 40% more efficient than products required under the most common national building codes. This means you'll be using less energy to heat and cool your home all year, resulting in lower utility bills. There are also environmental benefits associated with choosing ENERGY STAR® labeled windows and other products. Most energy is produced by burning fossil fuels in large power plants. When we use energy more efficiently in our homes and businesses, we also help reduce air pollution.

A Beautiful View

So many homeowners want to maintain that great look of an original wood window, but fear the maintenance and energy loss associated with them. Up until now, vinyl windows had not been designed to capture this great look. But at Sunrise, we've patented our window design.* There is nothing else like it. Our double contoured narrow-line exterior mainframe provides a striking accent to your home, and our mortised locks and wood-style cove trim around the glass create an overall effect of unmistakable elegance. All this helps to provide more visible glass area.
